It Is So AWESOME When I Clean!

I love reading old blog posts that I forgot I wrote!  My life is just a funny rerun.  The same things... the same things...  January 15, 2006... March 30, 2012... the same.  Haha! "I hate to clean. If you know me or my family, you know that we don't like to clean and that there is a HORRIBLE gene that runs in our DNA. I am fighting it with every fiber of my being, but sometimes it remains firmly embedded in my mind not to throw the shoebox away, because you never know when I might need it.... Anyway, the second part of my horrible genetic curse is that I loathe cleaning. I like things clean, I just don't like to do it; pair that with never having a moment that is really my own, and you can understand how hard it is for me to keep my house looking respectable. Oh, and our house, by the way, is the size of one of those shoeboxes I can't seem to part with, so one thing out of place and the whole place is cluttered. So, those are all my excuses for my family's ...

Sharing Some Love Sunday

Once again, I find myself overwhelming busy, yet committed to blogging everyday and struggling to participate in the positive and uplifting part of the blogging community that is reading other writing and leaving them comments! So, even though I have two or three new ideas for posts, I am spending today reading the work of others and leaving them a nice thought or two.  Here is who I have visited today (so far): Emily Melaina Masked Mom Cathe Larissa Naomi If I get to more, I will add them.  For now, we are late for church.  Yes, I am THAT mom that walks into church late.  With no good excuse.

The Gift of Flattery

There's another great "pay-it-forward" award going around... only this time the rules are different.  Taylor  flatters me so much and always (okay only twice... but to me that's a lot!) lists me in her bunch of favorites!  Check her blog out.  I am supposed to share seven random things about myself and then list 15 blogs I love and let them know.  But Taylor said it wouldn't hurt her feelings if the buck stopped with me.  So, what I am going to do is complete an amended version (like I have seen others do).  I don't want them to feel obligated to pay forward, so I am just going to make a list of all blogs I think to be pretty great and if they read about themselves on here, then they have a choice to pay forward or click away really fast and pretend they never saw! At a minimum, I hope they are flattered.  No pressure. Whew!  I just did a post of 100 things about me , because I am totally ...

One Overwhelmed Woman

First of all, I have to share this link because I love it so much... Courtney Snailum   A few years back, almost three I guess, I did a Proverbs 31 study.  That is a woman that no one will ever be.  Supermom on crack.  Courtney does such a good job of lightheartedly rephrasing that scripture to fit the "average" mom.  But the real reason I am writing this morning is because I went to bed too late last night and got up too early for my liking but too late if I am going to finish everything on my to do list.  My children arose before me and fended for their own breakfast (which made me think of Proverbs 32!). I like to make lists.  I like to check off the things I have done.  Unfortunately, by the time I go back to my list again, the thing I have done and want to check off needs done again! Today I am cleaning and packing and jamming and pickling and meal planning for my family for the week.  I am also (obviously) blogging and Facebooking an...

The Circle of Blogging

And again.... wow - long time. Hopefully there will come a time when it won't have been a long time between my posts. This life somehow gets away from me a lot. Blogging is just part of the rest of my ADD-affected activities. I start something and failing to finish, move on to another because of a mere distraction. Eventually, apparently, I circle back around! Lots of things have gone on since my last post. I have graduated from City University (yeehaw!). I have made three birthday cakes that I have successfully kept hidden from CakeWrecks. I have maintained the rest of my frenetically crazy day to day schedule, and I have circled back around to blogging! This was the first three day weekend I have had since September, and I was just about DYING to get a whole three day weekend without the pressure of school or shopping or a birthday party. So I went a little crazy. My husband and I made 10 lbs of summer sausage. Then I proceeded to bake 3 loaves of bread and a batch of ...
