Peanut Butter and Bananas
Growing up, my favorite sandwich in the world (when it came to peanut butter at least), was a peanut butter and brown sugar sandwich. Crunchy peanut butter made it better. My best friend's favorite sandwich was peanut butter, banana, and honey. "Gross!" I said. "Gross!" she said. We both agreed that we wouldn't know until we tried it. So, one day in her kitchen, we made our favorite sandwiches. She sliced her bananas as I wrinkled up my nose. I sprinkled brown sugar as she looked nervously at me from the corner of her eye. We presented one another with our beloved sandwiches. We had to try. To understand one another a little better. Just one bite... That's all it took. And we switched right back. She finished hers, and I finished mine. Right now, I am sitting on the couch eating a frozen banana with peanut butter drizzled on top. It is amazing. Who would have thought that over twent...
How cool! My mother-in-law once had a Pot Belly as a pet. She loved that pig.
ReplyDeleteLeilee really loves these pigs! I collected pigs as a child. Unfortunately, these pigs are for our freezer. We are so becoming Farmer Brown this year...
DeleteWill these be dinner pigs or pet pigs? Or some weird combination of both? I have a friend whose parents were raising a beef cow and she would go out to the fence every day and have a conversation with the cow and pet its nose, etc, etc. Her father caught her at this one day and said, "Haven't I told you not to play with your food?" Ah, farm humor. :)
ReplyDeleteI know!! It is so twisted. I am having a kind of hard time with it. They are still in the somewhat cute stage, and I am trying not to talk to them or get attached. I know I am going to have to leave with the kids and go far away when it is butchering time. That I will not be able to handle. Although the pork chop part of it will be easy once it is all over...
